About the Zine

Spooky and Spice is a two-volume, open acceptance, original content charity zine with over 120 artists and authors.

Spooky and Spice Zine was dreamed up as a stand-alone zine where contributors have the opportunity to explore a theme using their own original characters and content. This is stepping away from Fanzines, Alternative Universes and Spin-offs and into publishing your own works and characters!

The Spooky and Spice Zine is planned in two parts: a Spooky side for all things creepy, ala “Scary stories to tell in the dark”, and a Spice side for Fall Feel Good Aesthetics™️ ala Pumpkin patches and PSLs. All work within the zine should fall into one of those broad categories, be “family friendly” with no gore and should be SFW. We are going for creepy, not slasher horror, and Spice not Sexy. The ultimate goal of this Zine is to explore these two fall themes and help our contributors worldbuild, expand their character creating, plot growth and finally make a polished piece for publishing! We hope to fill the Zine with all original short stories, poems, and artwork!

We a have selected a national charity  the Shriner's Children’s Hospitals! Mod Creme and  Mod Mandarr have both had hands on experience with this exceptional organization, and we hope we can give them a good donation! Creme’s last project raised over $800 for the Trevor Project, and we hope to raise that bar to $1000
